How can YOU help?

To help organisms in the Chesapeake, individuals can reduce their own environmental impact by using less fertilizer, cleaning up after pets, and reducing their reliance on cars. They can also support conservation efforts by volunteering for cleanups, donating to environmental organizations, or advocating for policies that protect the Bay.

Volunteering

Volunteers play a crucial role in cleaning the Chesapeake Bay by removing litter and debris from waterways, planting trees to absorb pollution, and monitoring water quality. Organizations like the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay organize various cleanup events, including the popular Clean the Bay Day, where thousands of volunteers come together to collect trash and debris.
